    A nice little aside

Just wrote this little aside that I liked and wanted to share. It’s from book two in the series, in rewrites as I type, and occurs almost entirely in Portia’s head. Let me know what you think? The next morning was a Saturday, and found me on the floor of my living room with several maps of London spread in front of me. I was circling and marking areas that I still needed to explore, some in the poorer areas of the city that my grandmother had grown up in. A knock at the door

One Fictitious Moment: Writing Detective Fiction

I’ve been writing a few articles for various publications recently and as part of one of those assignments, I decided to create some YouTube videos about writing. This is the first episode, and it’s about how I construct a detective story. Hope you enjoy it! Shifting into high(er) gear

You know that old ‘I Love Lucy’ episode with the conveyer belts and the chocolates? Remember how Lucy is just fine wrapping up those tasty treats until the speed overtakes her production and she starts stuffing them into her mouth so that the ‘extra’ chocolates don’t get past her (a crime for which she will be fired)? Ok, so that is NOT what I am planning for Monday morning when I go from writing in my spare time around a full-time job to writing full-time. The conveyer belt
